Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been putting together beginners guide to homebrewing. It’s the ebook that I wish I had when I was first getting into making my own beer. Homebrewing For Beginners is a simple, to the point guide to making beer for the first time, written in plain English with only the information that a new brewer will need to get started.
Homebrewing For Beginners is a compilation of some of the best, most useful posts from the past year and a whole lot of other writing, to make sure that a new homebrewer gets all of the right equipment and makes it through the first brewing day without a nervous breakdown caused by information overload.
I would like to share a couple of copies of this ebook before it goes on sale, as a way to say thank you to everyone that’s been checking out this blog for the past year and to get some early feedback about it.
If you’re interested in a copy, let me know why you’d like a copy in the comments below. Two people will be chosen at random to receive a free copy of the ebook before anyone else can get it. Winners will be selected Friday, Feb 3rd at noon EST, (so make sure you have your entry in before then) and will have a copy emailed to them shortly after that.
Stay tuned to Facebook and Twitter for more details about the Homebrewing For Beginners project.
I have just got into the game and would love a copy. I know I am not the best brewer but with your help I got my first belgian style brew off and running.
Chad, I’m glad I could help! I love belgian style beers.
Because I’d love to get started with something other than a Mr. Beer kit. 😉
Aaron, I started out with a Mr Beer. It was a good starting point, but I have to warn you once you move up to extract or all grain, it becomes quite the addiction.
Addiction is not a strong enough word. I also started out with a Mr. Beer. It helps to ease you into the hobby. The equipment also has the potential to make decent beer when you don’t use the “Mr. Beer” ingredient kits.
Mike, I was brought here by reddit.com/r/homebrewing.
Tony, I had no idea that Reddit had such an active homebrewing community until earlier this month. Now, I check in their regularly, even subscribed to the RSS feed today.
I have a brewing kit that “Santa” brought for me, but I still have not made the leap yet. I don’t know anyone who brews so I’m on my own. I’m sure I can figure it out, but a book by someone who knows the pitfalls would be helpful.
I found my way here from G+, thought you may like to know .
Thanks for letting me know where you came from Justin. I’ve been seeing a lot of homebrewers over there. I think Aaron came from that direction also.
Just because a love beer. Nothing else.
Nothing wrong with loving beer!
I’d love to have an ebook so can read while out and about and bored.
I do the same thing when I’m out and about, and have a moment to read while I’m waiting, etc.
I have just ordered my first piece of brewing equipment (9 gallon kettle for full boils) and I could always use more reading material. I’ve been reading everything I could get my hands on and researching everything obsessively. I’ll be being my first batch in a few days with my homebrew club and I always look for new routes of information and an e copy would be great.
Cheers.
With the 9 gallon kettle, you should be making some awesome beers! Good luck with the contest Stephen.
I love literature and this is right up my alley! You can never learn too much – I’ve got my fingers crossed!
Awesome Pbialk! I agree, you can never learn too much, I’m always trying to learn more.
I have absolutely no experience in home brewing but I’m buying a kit this coming Friday (payday). Real excited
breakfast_champ it sounds like the ebook would be perfect for you! Good luck!
Just started, would love a copy. And, I LOVE books! Congrats on writing it 🙂
Thank you Sam! And good luck on winning a copy.
I’d like a copy to bring to my University’s Brewclub. We are working on putting together a podcast, and we might discuss it on the show.
Good luck AceStewart with the contest and the podcast. Is the podcast about beer or more topics?
Hey Mike, sorry for not replying. I had thought I would receive an email about it, but I don’t think I clicked the subscribe button. The Brewcast, as we’re calling it, is going to be mostly about what to do with your homebrew. Some episodes will be about techniques, and others will be about how to taste (spotting off flavours and how to correct them) as well as cooking with beer and pairing food with beer.
Shoot me a link when it goes live. I would love to listen to it and could share it with the other readers here.
I would love to have a copy!
Good luck Brandon!
I too am brand new to brewing, as my first batch is newly bottled and going its last few weeks. I’d love to win information!
Good luck on winning Charles! I hope your first batch comes out awesome tasting!
I love craft beers, and have been brewing kits for about the last year. I’m sure this will help me with my endeavor in becoming a great brewer!
Good luck with the contest and becoming a great brewer. Half of the fun on a goal like that is drinking the product you create.
Just started my first batch a couple of days ago and I’m really looking into getting more involved in homebrewing. Thanks for your time!
I’d love a copy. I’m waiting to start reading your emails. The book would be a great b’day present.. for Feb 4 🙂
OBTW, I’m making the doggie biscuits right now. A different recipe I got from a friend.. yours has more grain. Heating the oven as I type 😀
