This week’s beer blogosphere round up has everything from another delicious recipe made with beer to ways to save time when you’re home brewing. What else do you need?

Now this is my type of cooking! Here’s another recipe that I’ll have to try soon.

Billy Brew: The Rise of the Craft Beer 4-Pack
Go in to your favorite craft beer store and you’re more and more likely to see four packs. What do you think of these four packs? Are they a rip off? I don’t mind paying six pack prices for a four pack if I’m getting a good beer made with high quality ingredients.

Liquid Diet: I can only ask “Seriously?”
Jack found the the really expensive ($4,500) automated version of a Mr. Beer kit. Just add the malted extract and seven days later you have beer…allegedly. I think I’ll invest my money in other equipment.

And a huge shout out to Singing Boy Brewing for linking to me on their links page.

I'm a former coffee blogger, but I’ve been getting to know some really good craft beers and really getting into home brewing. I couldn’t resist starting this little project called Passion For The Pint. When I’m not blogging about coffee or beer, you can find me exploring New Orleans’ wide range of eateries, rooting for the New York Yankees (don’t hate me, I’m originally from New York), working out to burn off the beer calories or reading about beer.

  1. A couple of my recent cooking with beer experiences were i) pork loin chops marinated in a locally brewed pumpkin ale(then done in a pipian mole sauce with ground pumpkin & sesame seeds) & 2) chicken breasts marinated in the same local brewery’s Double IPA, then cooked up in a spicy chipotle mole sauce-with a splash of the beer. Both really turned out well,,,oh, the mole sauce was from a paste I got at a local Mexican grocery.

  2. Oh forgot the best one, that same Double IPA with an Indian Tandoori BBQ sauce. I scored my chicken breasts diagonally on both sides, then put them into a Zip-Loc bag. But before I sealed the bag I poured in about six ounces of beer & about 5 drops of this supermarket tandoori bbq sauce. Once I had the bag sealed, I rolled it around to mix the beer & bbq sauce. Left that in the fridge for at least 48 hours, flipping it every ten hours or so. Really moist & flavorful chicken..the malt & hops were a great addition to the spicing of the sauce too.

    • I like all of the recipes, they all sound delicious. I think my favorite would be this recipe too. Might have to try that one this weekend!
